Flooring Installation Northampton
New flooring can transform a room faster than almost any other home improvement, but it's also one of the jobs where preparation matters as much as the finished product. An uneven or poorly prepared subfloor will show through almost any flooring material eventually, which is why we treat subfloor preparation as part of the job rather than an optional extra. We install and replace flooring across Northampton and Milton Keynes.
Flooring Options We Fit
Each of these has its own dedicated page with more detail if you already know which material you're after.
Laminate flooring, a durable, cost-effective option available in a huge range of finishes
LVT and vinyl flooring, waterproof and low-maintenance, well suited to kitchens and bathrooms
Carpet, for warmth and comfort in bedrooms and living spaces
Engineered wood flooring, giving a genuine timber appearance with better stability than solid wood
Floor tiling, for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways
Underfloor heating, which can be installed as part of a new flooring project where it makes sense
Replacing Existing Flooring
Whether you're replacing tired carpet, damaged laminate or flooring that's simply reached the end of its life, removal and disposal of the old material is included as part of the job. Replacement is also the point at which it's worth checking the subfloor properly, since problems that were hidden under the old flooring, damp, unevenness, or a subfloor that's moved over time, are much easier to address before the new material goes down than after.
Subfloor Preparation and Screeding
A subfloor that's uneven, damp or poorly prepared undermines even the best flooring material, showing through as lippage, creaking, or premature wear. Where needed, we'll screed or level the subfloor as part of the installation, rather than laying new flooring over a problem and hoping it doesn't show. This isn't always necessary, plenty of subfloors are perfectly suitable as they are, but we'll assess this honestly during the survey rather than skipping it to save time.

Flooring Installation FAQs
Yes, removal and disposal of existing flooring is included as part of a replacement project, so you don't need to arrange this separately.
Visible unevenness, creaking, or a floor that feels uneven underfoot are all signs worth checking. We'll assess the subfloor properly during the survey and recommend levelling only where it's genuinely needed.
LVT, vinyl or floor tiling are generally the most practical choices for kitchens, given their water resistance, though the right choice depends on your specific priorities and budget, which we'll talk through during the survey.
In many cases yes, and it's often more straightforward to install alongside a flooring replacement than retrofitting it separately later. This is covered in more detail on our underfloor heating page.
